Store ting er i gjære!
News from Norway!
* Moose on the loose in central Oslo!
Somehow, a moose found its way into the Oslo district of Torshov today. After scurrying around in the local neighborhood for some time, the big animal sadly had to be put down before it escaped into traffic.
*Oslo periodical with "How to get to have sex with muslim girls"
Oslo cultural/musical youth magazine Natt & Dag are printing an article explaining the reader what to do to get jiggy with muslim women, featuring a picture of a topless arab woman with a Hijab. Well, that's awfully tasteful! I have a feeling I know who's going to be the next Salman Rushdie...
*Quasi-nazi band to play at famous Bergen music hall "Hulen".
Nazi aesthetics "Death in June" are to perform at Hulen in Bergen. The group is well-known for its heavy influence of nazistic symbols, texts and paraphanelia. Not only that, but they tend to play old nazi classic "Die Fahne Hoch" at their concerts? Surely it would be easy to stamp this group out as just another vulgar nazi band and let them stew in their own juice. But no: Jo Rasmussen, the boss at "Hulen" explains that it's all just an expression of art! Well of course it is. If I want to put on my best SS uniform and do the nazi salute in front of the Jewish synagogue in Oslo, I suppose that would be art as well and noooothing to worry about? What a complete moron...
*Norway's own journalistic scoundrel struggles on
Åsne Seierstad, previously celebrated freelance journalist famous for her reporting in Afghanistan and Bagdad during the wars, is having a hard time of it. Her recent book "The Bookseller of Kabul" has been sued in 17 countries around the world with the protagonist in the book (that would be the bookseller, then) claiming that half of the stuff in the book is made up, misrepresented, libellous...well, read for yourself. Personally the woman's never impressed me. An unbeliveably arrogant attitude towards her critics during the latter weeks certainly hasn't done her any good either. Away with you, fraudster...
*It's official, Norwegians have loads of sex
Another one of those immensly tedious surveys have shown that no other people in the world have more casual sex than Norwegians, which certainly does our international reputation a world of good. Maybe we should change our national slogan to "Cum to Norway!" (sorry, that was vulgar...)
On another front, my wife's belly has started to grow. I can now see a hint of a little lump in the lower abdomen. She has now done 14 weeks and is coming along nicely. The little guy inside will be around 11 cm long with a weight of something like 80-90 grammes. I still can't quite believe it, but, I suppose, the coming weeks will make things dawn on me ;)
